1.Senganen Japanese garden
This place used be a second house of the local leaders’ family who governed Kagoshima about 700 years. It holds magnificent view of Kagoshima bay and surrounding nature. You can feel the life of lord at that time.
2.Mt. Sakurajima
Mt. Sakurajima is an active volcano. You can feel the power of nature and unique aspect of existence of this volcano in Kagoshima.

You can feel sophisticated beauty and history of Kagoshima,and enjoy dynamic power of nature! At Senganen garden, you will see magnificent view of nature of Kagoshima and historical sights. There is a residence of local feudal lords in the 19th century and you can go inside and see how then people lived there. And at a restaurant in the garden, you can enjoy various kind of local cuisine with a great view of the garden. To reach Mt. Sakurajima, we will take a ferry. On the mountain, we will feel energy of the earth from the observatory and how local people live with the active volcano.

Mikiko is a wonderful guide. Her personality is very warm and engaging. Her flexibility to make changes for her customers was great. Weather conditions on the day weren’t conducive to our planned day, hence plans modified to make a perfect day. We experienced a wonderful day of local Japanese Culture. Later on she kindly assisted me with our further planning in Japan.

Mikiko was a kind, great English speaking, fantastic guide for Kagoshima, as a native she knows the city and its sites so well. She was able to make last minute changes to the original plans for our family and explain all sorts of history to us. She had planned our travel perfectly and made sure we made our train back on time. Highly recommend Mikiko as a guide! She was great!!

Booking this tour was the best decision! Miki-san was the perfect tour guide, offering interesting insights and funny stories. Usually I'm not that interested in historic things, but Miki-san told the stories with a lot of charm. The garden was beautiful, and in the city we could have some unique experiences you would never get just as a simple tourist. The food choices were excellent and tasted really good. If I get the chance to come back, I'll definitely book a tour with Mikiko again. 10/10 :)
